A family-owned enterprise since the beginning
The VEKA success story started in 1969 when Heinrich Laumann, a pioneer in PVC-U windows, founded the company. The name and the legal form have changed since then, but the Laumann and Hartleif families still own 100% of VEKA AG.
-
1969 Heinrich Laumann acquires VEKAPLAST, located in Sendenhorst, a company that manufactures roller shutters and construction profiles with just eight employees.
-
1981 The map of Europe in the background proves it: as early as the beginning of the 1980s, company management, including Heinrich Laumann, Eugen Schlüter, Heinz Cord-Kruse, Hubert Hecker and Werner Therling (left to right), had already developed foreign markets.
-
1997 A new generation: Elke Hartleif, the daughter of Heinrich Laumann, her husband Andreas Hartleif and Dr Andreas W. Hillebrand join the VEKA Executive Board. Hubert Hecker becomes the Deputy Chairman.
-
1999 Heinrich Laumann is honoured with the German Federal Cross of Merit for his achievements in business. In addition, the city of Sendenhorst declares the 70-year-old Mr Laumann a citizen of honour. At the end of the year, Heinrich Laumann joins the Supervisory Board and transfers the position of Chairman of the Executive Board to Hubert Hecker.
-
2007 Andreas Hartleif, member of the Executive Board and son-in-law of Heinrich Laumann, takes over the role of Chairman of the Executive Board from Hubert Hecker. Bonifatius Eichwald becomes the Managing Director of Sales and Marketing.
-
2008 The entrepreneurial Laumann couple establishes the Heinrich and Rita Laumann Foundation with the objective of improving the quality of life for older people and those in need of care.
-
2018 Heinrich Laumann dies in Sendenhorst at the age of 89. VEKA AG is the legacy of his rewarding business life – it is a world market leader with sales revenue of 1.1 billion euros, 41 locations and subsidiaries worldwide and more than 6,000 employees.
-
2019 The current Executive Board of VEKA AG: Andreas Hartleif, Dr Andreas W. Hillebrand, Bonifatius Eichwald, Elke Hartleif and Dr Werner Schuler.
